process

Leah Moss Interiors offers a wide range of interior design services depending on the client’s needs and budget. In recent years, Leah has focused her attention on renovations, additions, and custom new builds. However, she also offers “mini services” such as color consultations, floor plan rearrangements, and accessory installation. Leah’s projects are characterized by a personal, creative, and layered approach to design. The process listed below outlines a typical full service interior design project.

Getting Started

If you are interested in working with Leah Moss Interiors, please take a moment to fill out an inquiry on the Contact page. You will be sent a list of services and rates. If you like what you see, we will set up a time to chat on the phone. During this first phone call, we will discuss the specifics of your project, as well as give you an overview of how our design process works. If it seems like a good fit, we will set up a time to meet on site.

First Meeting

For an exiting space, the first meeting generally entails walking through your space, taking preliminary measurements, and discussing the specific challenges and goals of your project. We will also talk about your style, color preferences, and budget.

If you are building a new home or planning a renovation, we will discuss your building plans, go over architectural drawings, and discuss your project timeline.

After the first meeting, we will give you an estimated number of hours for the scope of work discussed and send you a contract.

Design Plan

Once the contract has been signed, the actual design process starts! Depending on your design needs, you will be presented with a personalized plan that incorporates elements such as paint colors, floor plans, renderings, and product purchase lists. Most often, the plan is sent to you digitally in the form of an interactive idea book. Any samples will be shown in person at our next meeting. If all is agreed upon, we move to implementing the plan.

Implementation

This stage varies depending on your needs. Some clients wish to act as their own project managers, scheduling any necessary contractors and ordering the items from the purchase lists themselves, while others hand over the reigns to Leah Moss Interiors to organize the timeline, schedule contractors and installers, and order products from the purchase list.

Finishing Touches

The last 10% of a project–installing accents and accessories– is often the most rewarding and the most fun. Most often this includes hanging and arranging art, finalizing the furniture arrangement, adding plants, styling bookshelves, and layering with throws, rugs, and accent pillows. It’s these last little touches that bring a space to life.
